
Nominations
The “Green Bar Bill” Hillcourt Foundation will award the Hillcourt Silver Medal to deserving individuals for distinguished contributions on a national or international level to the history of the Scout movement, including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Girl Guides, and related Scout organizations of any nation. A limited number of awards will be presented each year. Recipients need not be a member of any Scout or Guide organization
The medals and appropriate certificates will be awarded by vote of an awards committee and confirmed by vote of the Foundation board of directors. The awards committee will consist of three or more persons, at least two of whom must be members of the Foundation board, chosen by the Foundation chairman.
Contributions to the history of Scouting or Guiding may be in any form or medium, including books, articles, museums, displays, speeches, conferences, panels, film, and art, as determined by the awards committee and board of directors.
The award to recipients whose contributions have been made as part of their work while employed by a nonprofit organization will be accompanied by a monetary award in an amount to be determined by the board of directors.
Letters of support may be submitted, but are not required, with this nomination. Limit to no more than two.
Nominations will not be accepted or considered for posthumous awards.
Self-nominations will not be accepted.
Nominations may be submitted through the Foundation website or emailed to awards@Hillcourt.org.
The deadline to submit a Silver Award nomination for 2025 is August 15, 2025.
